Sovereignty issues are complicating efforts by Saudi Arabia and Kuwait to restart production from two jointly owned fields in the Neutral Zone that can add half a million barrels a day of oil of production.

However, Saudi Arabia’s crown prince is hoping for a breakthrough following talks with neighbouring Kuwait.

“We believe that we are almost close to having something with Kuwait,” Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman — who recently met with Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah — said in an interview with news agency Bloomberg.
