Saudi Aramco has awarded a letter of intent to one contractor for work on the expansion of its Abu Ali gas plant, with the project likely to be worth around $2 billion.
Italy's Saipem is understood to have landed the deal.
The onshore contract is part of Aramco’s Berri offshore incremental programme and its workscope is thought to include the engineering, procurement and construction of a new onshore gas oil separation plant (GOSP) at the existing Abu Ali gas plant facility.
