Netherlands-based Parcom is believed to have beaten bidders, such as Keppel, which sources said had been close to finalising an acquisition in July.
However, the Singaporean player backed out last month because Keppel’s and GustoMSC’s “philosophies of jack-up design” were said to be very different.
At that time, Upstream was told that GustoMSC was seeking third-party investment injection, as part of a management buyout, a view appearing to be confirmed by this week’s announcement.
