Dutch floater specialist SBM Offshore is understood to be preparing to place fresh fabrication orders in Chinese yards covering at least two more floating production, storage and offloading vessels to be built under its Fast4Ward concept.
Well-placed industry officials said that the company is likely to sign separate commercial agreements as soon as this month, with both Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding (SWS) and China Merchant Heavy Industry (CMHI) to build the pair of Fast4ward FPSOs.
