Monaco-based SBM Offshore is in pole position to supply UK independent Premier Oil with a floating production, storage and offloading vessel for its challenging $2 billion Sea Lion project off the Falkland Islands.
Industry sources said SBM had beaten rivals Teekay Offshore and Modec to land a front-end engineering and design order that is destined to be followed by an FPSO lease and operate contract.
