Speaking at the Howard Weil Energy Conference in New Orleans this week, Gould said the company, which employs 87,000 people worldwide, was continuing to adjust its costs to the lower levels of activity and pricing.
“We have already announced a headcount reduction of 5%, which will now actually be completed by the end of the first quarter, and a further reduction of a similar amount is likely over the coming months,”he said.
