The Xbow (pronounced“crossbow”) is currently in field test mode and is“an ultra-slim system for through-tubing drilling applications through five-inch completions”, says Guy Arrington, Houston-based business development manager at the company.
This need is significant enough, he continues, for the new unit to have been partially funded by a group of clients.
The project is just one of many to have been delivered by Schlumberger´s worldwide drilling centre of excellence at Stonehouse in southern England.
