Once approved by the Petrobras board, Scorpion will moblise its Offshore Resolute jack-up, currently under construction at Keppel AmFels' yard in Brownsville, Texas.
The two-year contract would be worth $144 million, including $9 million in mobilisation and demobilisation fees, according to the statement.
Scorpion said the rig should start work in the second quarter of 2008, and may be extended for more time.
