A number of contractors have expressed interest in potentially providing funding for Premier Oil's challenging Sea Lion project off the Falkland Islands.
Minority partner Rockhopper Exploration said it hoped an agreement in principle on key terms could be reached in the coming months. Discussions are also progressing with potential providers of export credit finance.
Rockhopper believes the partners may be in a position to sanction the project in 2018.
