London-based drilling contractor Seadrill has chartered three jack-up rigs from Chinese yard Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries (ZPMC) for operations at Qatar Petroleum’s giant North Field Expansion (NFE) project off Qatar, writes Xu Yihe.
With these three rigs, Sea-drill has now lined up all five rigs it has been contracted to work on NFE.
The three Friede and Goldman JU2000E units — KS Java Star 3, Lovanda and Lovasing — will be sailing away from the yard in Shanghai starting October with three-month intervals.
