The project, which is operated by the Sakhalin Energy Investment Company (SEIC), is made up of two major offshore complexes -- Piltun-Astokhskoye and Lunskoye -- in water depths of around 30 to 35 metres.
Piltun-Astokhskoye is a large oilfield with associated gas while Lunskoye contains mostly gas with some condensate. In-place reserves are put at more than 4 billion barrels of oil and over 20 trillion cubic feet of gas.
