Singapore’s Sembcorp Marine confirmed it has won a contract to convert a tanker into a floating production, storage and offloading vessel for work off India’s east coast.

A joint venture between Shapoorji Pallonji Oil & Gas and Bumi Armada awarded the deal covering the tanker Ariake that will be converted to produce on Block KG-DWN 98/2.

The contract includes hull repairs and upgrading as well as fabrication of at least three topsides modules, which Sembmarine will install.
