Senegal is set to scrap the post of prime minister, concentrating power in the hands of recently re-elected President Macky Sall after constitutional reforms were proposed and last weekend passed by a majority of lawmakers in the capital Dakar, writes Barry Morgan.
The decision to request reappointed Prime Minister Mohammed Boun Abdallah Dionne to terminate his own role represents Sall’s first significant act since commencing his second term in office.
