The 150 million cubic feet per day plant “has arrived in country”, said the operator, adding that site preparation works at the field in OML 4 have been completed.
The plant is due to be installed around the end of this year and will boost gas processing capacity at Oben to 240 MMcfd.
Seplat’s extra associated gas production from Oben will be sold to power plants and the new plant is the first step in its plan to expand the field’s gas output to 450 MMcfd by 2017.
