Serica Energy has met the conditions of a US government licence that will allow operations to continue at the Rhum gas field in the UK central North Sea despite sanctions against Iran once the UK-listed company completes its acquisition of BP's interests in the field and the Bruce and Keith assets.

Serica has meanwhile consolidated it ownership of the Bruce and Keith fields after agreeing this week to acquire the interests of Australian partner BHP and Japan's Marubeni Oil & Gas.
