Transocean has won contracts for a pair of drillships and a semi-submersible rig, as well as extensions for other units, to bolster its backlog amid an accelerating recovery in the global drilling market, writes Steve Marshall.
Its ultra-deepwater drillship Dhirubhai Deepwater KG2 has been chartered by state-owned China National Offshore Oil Corporation on a three-well contract, with two one-well options, due to start off China in February 2019.
