The funding is part of a 17.3 billion reais disbursement to the Brazilian shipbuilding sector that also includes the construction of 75 vessels and six shipyards in the states of Alagoas, Espirito Santo, Para, Rio de Janeiro and Rio Grande do Sul.
The eight rigs benefited by the FMM programme are all drillships to be built at the Estaleiro Enseada do Paraguacu (EEP) shipyard, in Bahia state, the Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz (EJA) shipyard, in Espirito Santo state, and the Estaleiro Atlantico Sul (EAS) shipyard, in Pernambuco state.
