The subsea, umbilical, riser flowline specialist is displaying a great deal of corporate pride in its new vessel, now the largest in its 44-strong fleet.
Borealis is undergoing final outfitting at the Schiedam production facility of specialised pipelay and heavy-lift supplier Huisman, close to Rotterdam, with its 85-metre tall mast crane visible for kilometres around.
The contractor argues that the heavy-lift and pipelay combination of Borealis’ giant 5000-tonne crane, 600-tonne tension S-Lay system and 1000-tonne top tension J-Lay tower is unrivalled.
