Oslo-listed Shearwater GeoServices is set to carry out separate seismic programmes for Italian operator Eni off Oman and for Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC).
The Polar Empress will be used to acquire 2500 square kilometres of 3D seismic in Block 52 off Oman for Italy’s Eni and partner Oman Oil Company Exploration & Production.
The contract also includes acquisition of 800 kilometres of 2D seismic and data processing and is expected to involve about three months of seismic work that should start before the end of this year.
