Pioneer chief executive Scott Sheffield called out his shale counterparts in the Permian basin during a conference call this week, saying the industry needed to do more to curb flaring in the area.
“You can see there are a lot of peers that are way above the average,” he said, citing Rystad Energy research that gave estimates of percentage gas flared for each company during the early 2018 to mid-2019 period.
