Anglo-Dutch supermajor Shell is today at the forefront of Malaysia’s deep-water E&P industry not least as the operator of Malikai, which is being exploited by the nation’s first tension-leg platform, writes Amands Battersby.
“In December 2016, we started oil production from the Malikai tension-leg platform (TLP), located 100 kilometres off the coast of Sabah. Malikai is expected to have a peak production of 60,000 barrels per day,” Shell Malaysia chairman Iain Lo tells Upstream.
