The unit was severely damaged in the autumn of 2005 by Hurricane Katrina. Dutch marine contractor Heerema used its derrick semi-submersible Thialf on the three-day project to lift a trio of repaired rig components back on to the Mars topsides.
Shell will now concentrate on integrating the rig's safety, control and power systems with the platform.
The H&P 201 has been fitted with a new, strengthened clamp hold-down system that secures the rig to the platform.
