Anglo-Dutch supermajor Shell is evaluating results of its Leesburg wildcat in the US after plugging and abandoning the probe in the deep-water Gulf of Mexico.
Leesburg was drilled in Mississippi Canyon Block 475 with the drillship Noble Globetrotter I in 6580 feet of water.
The well was permitted to a depth of 29,000 feet and hit total depth on 17 May, US records show.
