One of the four lifeboats supplied by Norway's Umoe Schat-Harding was“catastrophically damaged”during a test of the equipment three weeks ago, according to the US Coast Guard.

A second boat failed visual inspection when cracks were detected, the Coast Guard said. The tests are required by the Coast Guard before it can deem the spar habitable.
