Shell is drilling ahead at its Aransas prospect in the Atwater Valley area on the eastern side of the deep-water US Gulf of Mexico, writes Kathrine Schmidt.
The Anglo-Dutch supermajor has the Transocean drillship Deepwater Thalassa onsite in Atwater Valley 198, according to data from the US Bureau of Safety & Environmental Enforcement.
The well spud on 23 June, Shell confirmed to Upstream.
