The supermajor shipped nine LNG cargoes into Tokyo Bay last week but Japan’s medium-term gas requirements in the wake of the tragedy remain unknown, a key executive said.
Global head of Shell’s LNG operations De La Rey Venter said the company is on standby to address Japan’s gas needs in the near term and beyond as it diverts ships to the country.
