Construction of the giant floater is ongoing at Samsung Heavy Industries in South Korea, and is moving steadily toward the commissioning phase.
Shell Australia’s vice president for production, David Bird, said several major milestones had been recently achieved, including the award of several operations and maintenance contracts to Australian companies.
However, when asked about a start-up date, Bird said Shell would enjoy “material cash flow” from 2018 onwards.
