SHELL has started production from the Gbaran-Ubie phase two project in Nigeria’s Bayelsa State, part of the supermajor's drive to enhance oil output from the Niger Delta by promoting integrated oil and gas development.

Peak production from Gbaran-Ubie 2 is expected to top 864 million cubic feet of gas per day and 26,000 barrels per day of condensate.

The first phase of Gbaran-Ubie was commissioned back in 2010 with peak production of 175,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day expected by 2019, supplying both the domestic and export markets.
