Perdido is due to be the first Lower Tertiary project to come on stream when the taps are turned on during the first quarter of 2010.
Heerema derrick semi-submersible Thialf carried out the lift, which was designed specifically to bump up against the vessel's capacity, which assisted the operator in maintaining its strict weight guidelines.
The Thialf has now moved off location and has been replaced by Heerema's other derrick semisub Balder to assist with structural welding, quarters commissioning and overall platform integration.
