Anglo-Dutch supermajor Shell is preparing to spud the Jerangau-1 exploration well on Block SK 318 off Sarawak, East Malaysia.
Shell recently completed the Gandarusa wildcat, also on Block SK 318, as a tight hole and now Transocean’s semi-submersible rig Deepwater Nautilus is en route to the Jerangau well location.
Jerangau-1 is expected to take around two months to drill.
Other prospects on deep-water Block SK 318, which is home to the Rosmari, Marjoram and Timi gas fields, include Gajus, Bolai and Bawang.
