Shell is considering a major new project to switch the gas export route from its high-pressure, high-temperature Shearwater hub in the UK central North Sea to the Shell Esso Gas & Associated Liquids (SEGAL) system.
The Anglo-Dutch supermajor confirmed it is evaluating the scheme — dubbed internally as “Shearwater Replumb” — to reroute exports away from the dry-gas system at the Shearwater-Elgin Area Line (SEAL) network to the wet-gas SEGAL system through the 290-kilometre Fulmar Gas Line (FGL).
