Anglo-Dutch supermajor Shell has started approaching a wide range of fabrication yards for its Vito platform project in the US Gulf of Mexico as it shows signs of reviving the long-stalled deep-water development.
The company is due to embark on a tour of up to 10 yards in South Korea, China, Singapore and Malaysia in September to scope out potential construction sites, well-placed sources told Upstream.
