Chinese town gas distributor Shenzhen Gas has started operations at a liquefied natural gas import terminal in southern China’s Shenzhen city.

A commissioning cargo of 65,000 tonnes of LNG the company bought from Italy’s Eni arrived earlier this month.

Sources said that Shenzhen Gas is still seeking to conclude a long term supply contract but at the moment it is said to be happy to buy cargoes from the spot markets thanks to their attractive prices.
