Field operator BHP Billiton drilled the Shenzi-4 well past the primary target encountered in previous Shenzi wells to test the deeper, lower tertiary potential of the area.
The operator hinted previously that it would drill one appraisal down to test for pre-Miocene upside to the multi-hundred million barrel find, but never divulged which probe.
