The 27-year-old employee was working for Alpine Engineering Services, a subcontractor of Keppel, which has been contracted by SBM to construct the turret for the floating production, storage and offloading unit for Inpex’s Ichthys liquefied natural gas project off Australia.
The Ministry of Manpower (MOM), to which all workplace fatalities must be reported, said it was informed by the contractor on 19 May of the incident at Keppel’s Benoi Road yard.
