South Korea's Posco Daewoo has confirmed it has awarded the development drilling contract for its Shwe phase two gas project in Myanmar.
The contract was awarded to Diamond Offshore for use of the 10,000-foot water depth semi-submersible Ocean Monarch. It will run from November 2019 to March 2021. It covers seven firm wells and five option wells. The dayrate was not disclosed
Phase two of the Shwe project is an all-subsea development comprising a production system, pipelines and production controllers to develop four wells in the Shwe gas field and three or four in the Shwe Phyu gas field.
