Chinese energy trader and refiner Sinochem has endorsed a plan to farm in for a majority stake in an upcoming production sharing contract with PetroChina and Malaysia’s Petronas covering the Rongchangbei shale block, making a firm step to venture into upstream activity in China.
China-based industry officials said that Sinochem has concluded talks with PetroChina over the PSC for Rongchangbei in south western China’s Sichuan province.
