The field, off the west coast of UAE, holds gas reserves of more than 300 billion cubic feet, with production start-up expected by the end of next year.
Sinochem, which does not have any upstream operations in China, hopes the deal will contribute to its target of increasing overseas production to 60,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day by 2010 from the current 10,000 boepd.
