The company aims to build a terminal at Beihai’s Tieshan port to receive 3 million tonnes per annum of LNG by 2014.
In an agreement signed with regional authorities in Guangxi, Sinopec has teamed up with Guangxi Investment Group in a 65:35 joint venture to build downstream infrastructure, such as pipelines and liquefaction facilities, for the project.
Construction is due to start in 2011, local government officials told Upstream.
