A system for regional aid to the county of Finnmark and the northern part of Troms has previously been used to facilitate building of the liquefied natural gas plant serving the Snohvit field, by allowing the owners to write off the investment faster than the tax system allows in other parts of the country.
This arrangement will be expanded to encourage petroleum companies to bring more oil and gas to shore, said Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg.
