Aker BP has made a minor gas discovery with a wildcat at the Rumpetroll prospect near the earlier Frosk finds south of its operated Alvheim field in the Norwegian North Sea, writes Steve Marshall.
The 24/9-13 probe and subsequent 24/9-13A appraisal well struck a gas column totaling 77 metres, of which 27 metres was deemed by the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) to be of good reservoir quality, after being drilled by semi-submersible Deepsea Nordkapp in Aker BP-operated production licence 869.
