Angolan state oil company Sonangol opened data rooms in Luanda this week in a move to drum up industry interest in Kwanza basin deep-water blocks 20/11 and 20/09, previously operated by Cobalt International, writes Iain Esau.

Plans are also in hand to open data rooms covering the blocks in the US next month.

Block 21/09 hosts the Cameia discovery — once targeted for development via a leased floating production, storage and offloading vessel — as well as the Mavinga and Bicuar finds.
