The company secured the semisub Blackford Dolphin for a one-well programme in the north-west portion of the Santos basin, near oil and gas discoveries made recently by Brazilian player OGX.
The rig — which finished drilling an appraisal well for Norway’s Statoil in the Peregrino South-West structure in the Campos basin in July — is already on location to drill the Fragata prospect in Block BM-S-60 for Sonangol Starfish.
