An Amerada spokesman said the 7000-tonne South Arne integrated deck, which was built at Barmac's Ardesier yard, is due to be lifted into place on top of the base in the first week of June. There will then follow an intensive period of commissioning activity with first oil expected at the beginning of July, he said. The South Arne field contains around 89 million barrels of oil and 211 billion cubic feet of gas.
