Up to three appraisal wells will be drilled and studies carried out “aimed at further defining development concepts for the field”, South Rub Al-Khali said.
The appraisal has to be completed by the end of 2013. South Rub Al-Khali has since last year completed part of the second exploration period work in the wider Rub Al-Khali contract area — drilling one exploration well and acquiring 1025 kilometres of the planned 1950 kilometres 2D seismic data.
