The Houston-based independent has already solicited bids from spar makers FloaTec and Technip with the goal of issuing a lump-sum contract award sometime in the third quarter of 2006.
No other engineering firms are in the fold at this point, as ATP is in the early stages of evaluating what it needs in terms of topsides capability. Hence, there has been no decision yet on boilerplate production
capacity.
