The hull has been floating alongside the bulkhead at Technip-Coflexip's Gulf Marine Fabricators facility in Ingleside, Texas, ever since it arrived on 19 June from Technip's spar yard in Pori, Finland, where it was built.
The four-level production deck, which will have an operating weight of 10,770 short tons, is about 95% complete at Gulf Island Fabrication in Houma, Louisiana, according to Kerr-McGee's Gunnison project manager Gary Mitchell.
