UK-based Spectrum hopes to begin a major 2D seismic survey in the Turkish Black Sea this month.
BGP Marine’s Dong Fang Kan Tan No 1 vessel is understood to be en route to the eastern Black Sea from the Gulf of Mexico, via a stopover in the Canary Islands.
Neil Hodgson, head of Spectrum’s Mediterranean and Middle East multi-client business, told Upstream on the sidelines of a Geological Society event that the survey is expected to cover about 14,000 kilometres in the frontier eastern Black Sea basin.
