Spirit Energy is pressing ahead with plans to develop the Pegasus West gas field as the UK southern North Sea’s longest subsea tie-back.
A new 250-tonne reception module, set to be installed at Neptune Energy’s Cygnus Alpha facilities, the planned host, is among the new equipment required for the project, an environmental statement submitted to the UK authorities showed.
Spirit, the link-up between UK player Centrica and Bayerngas, plans to reach a final investment decision in 2019 on Pegasus West, located in a Carboniferous play 150 kilometres east of Teesside and about 58 kilometres from Cygnus.
