The Sri Lanka government has invited public consultation on its draft gas and liquefied natural gas policy as the South Asian country moves to develop a domestic natural gas industry, writes Amanda Battersby.
The draft claimed the government would be transparent in its LNG procurement, enabling the country to buy LNG at the most competitive price.
“Sourcing will be conducted taking into consideration… key factors such as price, time of purchase, quantity and quality requirements to give us a competitive advantage when negotiating contracts in the international LNG markets,” the draft document said.
